Stand Up Paddle Board
Rent stand up paddle boards from Great Lakes Surf in SCS. All SUPs are inflatable and rentals include a board, paddle, leash and a PFD. Everything is supplied to put on your vehicle to take wherever you would like. Launch at 9 mile boat launch and paddle to Fords cove.
Kayak Clinton River
Rent kayaks from Clinton River Canoe & Kayak and kayak down the Clinton River. Trips include a general 2-3 hour paddle and option to add on another 2-3 adventurous section. Shuttle rides take you to your drop off point and paddle back to your car.
Hike to Ford Estate Remains
Hike Haven Hill Trail at Highland Recreation Area and see the remains of an old Ford Estate. Haven Hill Loop is a 3.5 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Highland Township, Michigan that features a lake.
Surf a Great Lake
Learn to surf on a lake! Third Coast Surf Shop offers surfing lesson on Lake Michigan. Surf season is generally in September – November. Lessons are around 1.5-2 hrs at the local beach in St Joseph, MI.
Foil Board
Learn to foil board. Great Lakes Surf also offers foil board lessons off a boat. This includes a 2 hour semi-private lesson on Lake St. Clair.
Go Sailing
Learn to sail or charter a sail boat. Lake St. Clair Sailing School offers many different sailing courses. From a basic 2-day course to a barefoot chartering course. If you love below deck like I do, this would be amazing for you!
Charter Fishing
There are many different Fishing Charters available offering day trips on Lake Michigan, Manistee River, Detroit River and the Saginaw River. Mr. Muskie Charters offers Walleye, Muskie, Small Mouth Bass, Sturgeon, Yellow Perch charters and even Sunset Cruises. Fish for Salmon and Trout year round or Spring/Fall for Perch and Walleye.
SUP Yoga
Take a SUP yoga class. Luna Moon SUP offers SUP rentals and yoga classes on Sylvan Lake, MI. She also offers a guided group paddle tour and gentle wave guided meditation and breath practice.
Beach Clean Up
